Growing up in a Maryland town, JESSICA RIO spent the first part of summer waiting and packing for an annual week at camp, and the rest of summer afterward remembering camp songs and writing to new friends. As a teenager she volunteered for an annual camp session that drew from neighborhoods in Baltimore's inner city. Though convinced that living on-site and running a woodland camp was the ultimate dream job, Jessica's head was turned by her move to Chicago 20 years ago. Now a committed city-person, Jessica remains happiest playing and learning outside. She is delighted to join Camp of Dreams in 2013. Jessica's career has been in public service - in policy, public information and the use of performance data. Her academic background is in environmental science and urban planning and policy. She enjoys being active, especially cycling and running, and she likes to travel at every opportunity.
