BUD HERZOG grew up in Highland Park, Ill. and graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a BBA degree. He then started a 40 year career in the insurance business with Eliel and Loeb Co. followed by Meeker-Magner Co. One of his specialties was camp insurance and at one time he insured 17 camps, some of which were non-profit organizations. Camp Nebagamon was Bud's first introduction to camping, spending 10 years there as a camper and counselor. He also has attended Camp Nebagamon's Family Camp each year for the past 25 years, and is currently on the Board of the Camp Nebagamon Scholarship Fund. Now retired, Bud enjoys time with his wife of 44 years, Hazel, and their 3 children and their families, including 6 grandchildren. His hobbies include traveling, fishing, biking, classical music, piano playing, writing songs, and attending Alumni classes at Northwestern.
